Reformer Revolution Health and Safety Policy

  1. Purpose

At Reformer Revolution, we prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of all clients, instructors, and staff. This policy outlines our commitment to maintaining a safe environment and ensuring safe practices in all Reformer Pilates sessions.

  1. Responsibilities
  • Studio Management: Responsible for maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment, ensuring that all equipment is in good condition, and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Instructors: Responsible for providing proper guidance, monitoring participants for correct form, and adapting exercises for individual needs.
  • Clients: Responsible for following instructor guidance, informing staff of any medical conditions or injuries, and using equipment as instructed.
  1. Equipment Safety
  • All reformer machines, straps, springs, and other equipment must be checked daily for wear and tear.
  • Any faulty or damaged equipment must be reported and removed from use immediately.
  • Clients must be shown how to safely adjust the springs, foot bar, and straps before using the equipment.
  1. Studio Environment
  • The studio must be well-ventilated, clean, and free of obstacles.
  • Mats and other accessories should be sanitized after each class.
  • Flooring should be non-slip, and spills must be cleaned immediately.
  1. Client Safety and Injury Prevention
  • All new clients must complete a health questionnaire before participating in classes.
  • Clients with pre-existing injuries, pregnancy, or medical conditions should consult a doctor before attending.
  • Instructors must provide modifications and alternative exercises when necessary.
  • Proper warm-ups and cool-downs must be included in every class.
  • No client should attempt exercises beyond their ability level without instructor supervision.
  1. Emergency Procedures
  • First aid kits must be easily accessible in the studio.
  • Instructors should be trained in basic first aid.
  • Emergency contact details for all clients must be kept on file.
  • In the event of an injury, an incident report must be completed and filed.
  1. Hygiene and Cleanliness
  • Clients are encouraged to bring their own towels and grip socks for hygiene and safety.
  • All shared equipment must be wiped down after each use with disinfectant wipes provided.
  1. Compliance and Review
  • This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.
  • Any concerns about safety should be reported to Instructor immediately.
